An Informal Discussion

Solving the Criminological Puzzle has been a project that I have been working on for many years. I have done most of this work through a process of reading, processing ideas, and theory testing.  Some people who helped tremendously along the way include Mick Mayhew from St. Cloud State University who got me thinking about how change occurs, and Ross MacMillan, who worked with me at the University of Minnesota for a year and taught me so many things about statistics and crime in the life course. I have also been challenged by discussions with the professors at the University of Cincinnati as I have worked on my doctorate.  Many of the articles and books I have read have had an impact on my thinking, especially the works of Quetelet, Lombroso, and Goring. Without their trail blazing efforts, I am not sure that I would have had the courage to continue. I am adding a Blog page to the site because I think that the site will benefit from a less formal treatment of the issues involved, which are many and varied. Please feel free to comment on anything that you might find of interest.
